About Our Site

What is Better-Fishing.com?

When I was a child, I was blessed to have both my father and grandfather take me fishing. In fact, I practically grew up on the Jersey shore chasing schools of bluefish in a rusted out beach buggy up and down Island Beach State Park. It was in those years where I learned the fundemental techniques of plugging for striped bass, jigging for flounder, and drop shotting for big blues from both surf and boat.

School and my career took me to Michigan where I had long forgot the sport and years passed before I picked up a pole again. Suffering from corporate stress and struggling to find a meaning purpose, I bought a cheap set-up in 2006 and found a local pond. The rest is history.

This site was created for you, the amatuer angler.

Better-Fishing.com was launched to bring me back to the sport and hopefully provide some valuable insight to fellow amatuers out there. If nothing else, I hope to bring more environmental awareness to everyone who comes in contact with our waterways.

We are continually looking to grow and appreciate your feedback. Please bookmark us and check back often. I hope you'll find it as a worthy resource.

Respect the land.
Respect the water.
Respect the fish.
