The one's that didn't get away...but we did release them

We arrived on a quiet cove with literally no other anglers around. Perhaps the heavy vegetation kept them at bay, but one of the golden rules of fishing to to fish where everyone else isn't. So we did...and landed this 2+ pound largemouth.
Fishing Bass Pro Shops XPS Series crankbaits off the rocks on a quiet Sunday morning in July.
This aggressive little juvenile bass launched the Bass Pro Shops XPS clear out of the water.
While fishing early evening for Northern Pike on a cool, late August evening. We caught this tiny largemouth on our Dardevle. And no, we didn't turn around and use it for bait.
We landed this well-fed 28" Pike sitting in about 4 ft of water cruising the rocky shore for dinner late in the afternoon.
A beautiful late summer morning fishing Half Moon Lake, one mile South of Hell (Michigan). This lean, 27" Pike hit hard on a Strike King Spinnerbait in tall grass.
This aggressive little Rock Bass hit on a Chigger Craw Powerbait we were jigging on the rocks while fishing for late summer Bass and Northern Pike.
Fishing in the rain has its benefits. This beautiful 4+ pound Walleye hit the Dardevle Spoon we were tossing over a rocky shoal in about 6 ft of water on a humid, rainy evening at the lake. We could have easily gotten 4 full filets out of this Wally, had we not released him for some other day.
A chunky largemouth bass hit our Chartruse Booyah™ Blade Spinner as we threw it among the weeds over a shallow flat on a mild, early Fall morning.
This October largemouth was sitting in about 4 ft of water just outside a group of shad schooling over the dying weed flats. In many parts of the country they call fish this size, 'bait'.
Fall fishing is about patience, persistance, and trusting your instincts. We threw our Dardevle more than 80 casts across a promising 4 ft shoal with no results. With schooling shad in the area, it was only a matter of time before a bass came cruising...and this chunky smallmouth did.
Just a few more than 20 casts after the smallmouth in the previous picture, we landed this hog of a largemouth. It took almost 100 casts, but persistance paid off this afternoon with 7 lbs of bass in less than 20 minutes.

A note about our pictures: We value the life of all the fish we catch and when we intend to catch and release, we always evalute the hook-set before we decide to take any pictures. It is important that all fish, if not intended to be kept, be safely released as soon as possible. We only take pictures of the fish where we know the hook can be removed quickly and cleanly with minimal stress to the fish.
